Your organization
Roles & Permissions
What Owners, Admins, Members, and Viewers can do at the organization, team, and project level.
Roles control what each person can do. Nomosis uses roles at three levels: the organization, each team, and each project.
Organization roles
Your organization role sets your baseline access across the whole workspace.
| Role | What they can do |
|---|---|
| Owner | Everything, including billing and plan changes. An organization always keeps at least one Owner. |
| Admin | Manage members and settings, but not billing. |
| Member | Use the platform and work with data. |
| Viewer | Read-only access. |
Team roles
Within a team, members have one of two roles:
| Role | What they can do |
|---|---|
| Lead | Manage the team and its members. |
| Member | Belong to the team and inherit its project access. |
Project roles
Within a project, access is one of:
| Role | What they can do |
|---|---|
| Owner | Manage the project, its data, and its members. |
| Editor | View and modify the project's data. |
| Viewer | Read-only access to the project. |
How project access is granted
Someone can have access to a project in more than one way:
- They're an organization Owner or Admin.
- They're a direct project member.
- Their team is assigned to the project.
When access comes from more than one source, the most permissive role applies.
